Francisco Calderón is a Venezuelan software engineer, entrepreneur, and educator with a strong focus on Bitcoin and open-source technologies. He has extensive experience in web and mobile development, including technologies like Rust, NodeJS and React Native. A passionate advocate for decentralization and financial freedom, Calderón has become a prominent figure in the Bitcoin and Lightning Network ecosystem. In 2021, he was awarded a scholarship by Fulgur Ventures to contribute to the development of RGB, a smart contract system for Bitcoin. His work in this area aims to enhance the capabilities of the Bitcoin network without compromising its core principles. Furthering his impact, Calderón received a grant from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) for his project, @lnp2pBot. This tool facilitates peer-to-peer (P2P) trading of Bitcoin over the Lightning Network, offering a more private and censorship-resistant way for individuals to exchange value, particularly in regions with restrictive financial systems.
